As any experienced cook knows it pays to have the right equipment when it comes to preserving - a thermometer is essential to ensure you get to the right temperature thus ensuring your jam sets properly, a pouring funnel stops any wastage when transferring your preserve to your jars, new jars or seals ensure no nasty bacteria are left to ruin your creation over time and most essential of all are the jam pot labels - so you don't open a jar of damson chutney, when you were expecting strawberry jam for your breakfast!
